There are rumors that once a upon a
time in pre history there was a large bicycle stage race in
Lake Havasu City Arizona, during the early 1980's. Not much
is really remembered about this event. After this race
faded away the area slipped into the dark ages as far as non
motorized competition was concerned.
Fast forward to the mid 1990's and
Lake Havasu City's only bike club
G.S. Jibofo under the direction of ruler for life Larry Smith created "Another
Dam Race" in Parker Arizona. In four
years it grew into the largest
bike race ever in the south west. In 1999 the race
saw it's peak with 916 competitors from 15 countries and a
prized purse of $65,000 dollars in cold hard cash.
Fast forward again to 2010, it's time to bring back "Another
Dam Race". We are starting slowly this year but are
planning major events for 2011. It's very simple; we want
to put on the very best race and most importantly we want it
to be your favorite race!
